They come introduced the results of the analysis of the present residual flora in the Central-Northern field of Campidano. In the survey area, 1195 taxonomic units were identified, relating to 925 species, 265 sub-species, 5 varieties, included in 515 genera and 125 families. We are able to confirm the presence of 937 entities out of the 1050 reported by prior surveys. Of the 1078 findings, 110 are reported for the first time. The biological spectrum of the spontaneous component (1009) indicates, with 44.5% of Therophytes, marked conditions of summer drought also confirmed by climate analysis. According to Arrigoni’s and Di Tommaso's growth forms, herbaceous plants (H), represent 82.8% of vegetation, followed by woody-stemmed plants (WS) with 6.6% and woody-branched plants (WB) with 2.4%. The chorological spectrum with about 70% of Mediterranean elements highlights the significant Mediterraneity of the area. Likewise, the best represented of Arrigoni's phyto-geographic units is the Mediterranean one (M) with 185 taxa, that is 18.3%. The endemic component comprises 60 entities, including the following exclusive to the surveyed area: Limonium capitis-marci Arrigoni & Diana, Limonium lausianum Pignatti, Limonium oristanum Mayer, Limonium pseudolaetum Arrigoni & Diana, Limonium tenuifolium (Bertol. ex Moris) Erben, Limonium tharrosianum Arrigoni & Diana and Polygala sinisica Arrigoni. Species of phyto-geographical interest, many of which appear in Red Lists, include Armeria pungens (Link) Hoffmanns. & Link, Coris monspeliensis L. subsp. monspeliensis, Erica multiflora L., Helianthemum caput fells Boiss. and Viola arborescens L. Human activity in the area has led to the introduction and spread of a number of alien species (approximately 6%) which in some cases are replacing the spontaneous flora. Information is also provided on geological and geo-morphological characteristics and on the vegetation landscape.
