It is to be demonstrated, with historical, philological, linguistic and anthropological arguments, that Sardinian-campidanese KU risulting from lat. KW and existing in basic lexical words (like “water”, the best example), is original and not due to mediaeval interferences with Italian. It is necessary to deconstruct carefully the cliché of the Logudorese-nuorese as the only authentic linguistic area because, on this ground, the central dialects are used as model in several and contested projects of standardization of the entire Sardinian macrolanguage.
