The analysis of pottery found in Nora’s former military area allows to advance considerations of the probable local origin of some specimens marked by the thin thickness of the walls. These, chronologically framed in the first century d.C., are partly referable to thin–walled jugs and cups (such as the Ricci type 1/30), partly to polished shapes which, although not closely related to the class in question, exhibit significant technical affinities with it.

Abstract

The analysis of pottery found in Nora’s former military area allows to advance considerations of the probable local origin of some specimens marked by the thin thickness of the walls. These, chronologically framed in the first century d.C., are partly referable to thin–walled jugs and cups (such as the Ricci type 1/30), partly to polished shapes which, although not closely related to the class in question, exhibit significant technical affinities with it.
