A stacked dual polarized antenna for future 5G mobile handsets is presented. Three square patches are realized on a stack of Rogers Duroid RT5880 substrates, and proper air gaps placed on the two lower patches determine the energy coupling. The feeding system consists of a couple of coaxial cable which provides the dual polarization in the same antenna. The results show a bandwidth from 26 to 28 GHz with more than 10 dB return loss for both polarizations and more than 18 dB isolation between the feeds. A directivity of over 9 dB is achieved over the whole operating frequency band for the copolar component of each polarization.

Abstract
A stacked dual polarized antenna for future 5G mobile handsets is presented. Three square patches are realized on a stack of Rogers Duroid RT5880 substrates, and proper air gaps placed on the two lower patches determine the energy coupling. The feeding system consists of a couple of coaxial cable which provides the dual polarization in the same antenna. The results show a bandwidth from 26 to 28 GHz with more than 10 dB return loss for both polarizations and more than 18 dB isolation between the feeds. A directivity of over 9 dB is achieved over the whole operating frequency band for the copolar component of each polarization.File in questo prodotto:
