Wide bandwidth requirement is one of the main challenging issues in 5G antenna technology. To satisfy this, a stacked low-profile patch antenna is proposed. The design has been optimized via an optimization tool based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) integrated with the finite integration technique (FIT). A bandwidth larger than 5 GHz (i.e., 18%) has been obtained in the 5G mm-wave range.
