Abstract

Satellite communications are becoming increasingly important thanks to their use in new fields and the need for integration with new generation networks. But the aspect that most slows down its development in this sector is the cost of research. In fact, implementing and testing new algorithms and technologies requires an infrastructure that has too high costs to allocate it to unprofitable use. For this reason this work proposes the realization of an open source simulator for satellite networks, and introduces the problem of traffic control to test its functionality.
