Within the frame of the home environment the television set has occupied a primordial place in the past few years, at a tight pace with another technological paradigm: the Smart Home concept. Within this context, an interesting application is the integration of user feedback mechanisms and health monitoring devices which could allow the entire home eco-system to actively participate to the monitoring of the users' health status. This paper proposes an architecture to integrate health monitoring devices, user feedback and the smart home environment with a HbbTV - enabled television, on the purpose of combining the TV/SH experience with extended health monitoring.

Abstract

Within the frame of the home environment the television set has occupied a primordial place in the past few years, at a tight pace with another technological paradigm: the Smart Home concept. Within this context, an interesting application is the integration of user feedback mechanisms and health monitoring devices which could allow the entire home eco-system to actively participate to the monitoring of the users' health status. This paper proposes an architecture to integrate health monitoring devices, user feedback and the smart home environment with a HbbTV - enabled television, on the purpose of combining the TV/SH experience with extended health monitoring.
