In the eighteenth century the Westernization of the world (Latouche, 1989) took its first steps. The Enlightenment thought conceived of the study of man as inseparable from the study of geographical and environmental circumstances in which they live and work. Among the subjects that Immanuel Kant taught in his academic career (1755-1796), geography stands out for the attention of the very special that has been reserved: more than forty years of university teaching, Kant has spent nearly a fifty courses (more precisely, 47). The function of geography is to educate the German bourgeoisie to cosmopolitism, at the same time provide those skills and those skills that will enable them to emerge from their minority status (effect of a passiven Vernunft, a reason lazy) to take over the reins of his destiny.

Abstract
In the eighteenth century the Westernization of the world (Latouche, 1989) took its first steps. The Enlightenment thought conceived of the study of man as inseparable from the study of geographical and environmental circumstances in which they live and work. Among the subjects that Immanuel Kant taught in his academic career (1755-1796), geography stands out for the attention of the very special that has been reserved: more than forty years of university teaching, Kant has spent nearly a fifty courses (more precisely, 47). The function of geography is to educate the German bourgeoisie to cosmopolitism, at the same time provide those skills and those skills that will enable them to emerge from their minority status (effect of a passiven Vernunft, a reason lazy) to take over the reins of his destiny.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
