The Romanesque church of San Cromazio - or Santu Tomei (twelfth century) - which was destroyed and reduced to ruins during the nineteenth century, is located within the municipal territory of Uta (Cagliari, Sardinia). Currently, the monument is in a state of semi-abandonment, due to multiple factors, such as the lack of attention paid by the institutions in charge of its protection, its location on the edge of the built-up area, and its proximity to the banks of the Cixerri river and the industrial agglomeration of Macchiareddu-Grogastu. In addition, there is also the apparent lack of interest by the local community, due to a poor knowledge of its history. This context is interesting for the experimentation of new research processes accompanied by multidisciplinary initiatives that can be developed around the central element of the church. The aim is to combine the consolidated methodological analysis of archaeology and art history with a focus on social disciplines, didactics, sustainable development and digitisation. Starting from the census of the enhancement activities carried out towards the monument over the last decade and considering the analysis of the respective results, the proposal is to design a didactic programme that finds in the church of San Cromazio a place of cultural and identity enanchement for the community, in dialogue with the heritage of the territory.
