This contribution starts from the research on the manuals on historic centers active in the DICAAR in Cagliari and particularly deals with the theme of knowledge construction for architectural design and urban regeneration. The subject of the research is the historic village of Neone- li, in central Sardinia. The redevelopment strategy focused on the reactivation of three historic buildings in the matrix center: the former Carabinieri barracks, the Municipal House and the Casa Cherchi, a late 19th century manor house. The work of converting three abandoned historical buildings into cultural spaces represents an interesting approach to the recovery of the historical fabric through the recovery of memory. The research focused in particular on two issues: the construction of knowledge, through archive documents, and the project, through didactic experimentation in university courses. The construction of the architecture plays a central role in the contribution that shows the results of extensive archive research on the Carabinieri barracks. The building is characterized typologically and constructively by analogy with the surrounding residential building fabric, while at the same time being part of a national program to take root in the territory through its military forces engaged in the fight against brigandage in peripheral areas. The archive material made it possible to rebuild the construction phases of the historic factory with extreme details on the type of material used, its origin, the types of work and the workers to be used to build them. The projects focus on similar buildings to that of the barracks and therefore show similar construction techniques in particular with respect to the wall textures and wooden carpentry of the floors. The projects for Casa Cherchi therefore propose the recovery of the historical memory of the places through architecture and the study of construction techniques, proposing a model of continuity of the long-term protection of the places.

Abstract
The projects for Casa Cherchi therefore propose the recovery of the historical memory of the places through architecture and the study of construction techniques, proposing a model of continuity of the long-term protection of the places.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
