This paper presents an application for the preliminary design of Electric Propulsion Systems (EPSs) for Electric Vehicles (EVs). It is characterized by a friendly user interface developed using the Matlab tool AppDesigner that allows the imposition of the EV performance and the evaluation of the required EPS specification. Subsequently, the preliminary design of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) and transmission system is obtained by imposing appropriate design targets, mechanical and electromagnetic constraints and operating conditions, and selecting machine materials. The PMSM design is validated through FEA analysis. This results in a useful tool for the design of EPS components, quick and easy to use.

Abstract
This results in a useful tool for the design of EPS components, quick and easy to use.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
