The Magliano Alpi renewable energy community was the first to be established in Italy, under the experimental legislation transposing the European directives on renewable energy and common rules for the internal market for electricity, Law 8/2020, in December 2020. This work aims to carry out an exploratory analysis of the data collected by the electricity monitoring system of the energy community after three years of operation, and, both energy and economic figures are presented and analysed. The main features of the energy community and the incentive system in place are recalled, with an emphasis on the aspects of electricity shared between users, the incentives accrued under the incentive legislation, and suggestions for improving the performance of the energy community are provided.
