This paper examines the historical landscape of Sardinia and how it was affected by the energy transition that took occurred at the beginning of the twentieth century. In particular, a preliminary assessment is provided of the impact of the implementation of the hydroelectric system on the transformation of the production architectural landscape. Based on numerous existing analyses, most of which have been developed using a sectoral typological-functional approach, the historical production architectural system will be studied as a ``constellation''. The objective is to develop a holistic approach capable of recomposing the complex historical landscape, which is essential for the implementation of a policy of protection, conservation and restoration that respects the heritage and the values at stake.
