The aim of this work is the analysis of the structural response of 2-D elements made of textile materials. Starting from the definition of a representative unit cell containing two mutually orthogonal threads (whose cross-section might be both rigid and deformable) and from their constitutive law, the structural response of the cell itself will be studied and its nonlinear nature outlined.
