SMART PCBs is a circular economy project focused on validating an innovative, low-impact technology designed to recover and enhance the valued materials contained in waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). The project specifically targets electronic boards (PCBs) from PCs and mobile phones, as well as components rich in gold, silver, palladium, and copper. Key elements include a Design for Sustainability (D4S) approach, implemented through ongoing and ex-post preliminary sustainability assessments at laboratory scale by ESCAPE (Evaluation of Sustainability of material substitution using CArbon footPrint by a simplifiEd approach), as well as the exploration of high-value applications for the recovered material streams. It is built on strong collaboration between partner companies and universities with recognized expertise in recycling and the recovery and reuse of raw materials.

Abstract
It is built on strong collaboration between partner companies and universities with recognized expertise in recycling and the recovery and reuse of raw materials.I metadati presenti in IRIS UNICA sono rilasciati con licenza Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal, mentre i file delle pubblicazioni sono protetti da diritto d'autore, salvo diversa indicazione.
