During trawl surveys carried out between 800 and 1250 meters depth, 65 species (4 Selachians, 36 Teleosteans, 18 Crustaceans, 7 Cephalopods) have been caught in Sardinian sea. Five species of Teleosteans (Nansenia oblita, Cataetyx alleni, Schedophilus medusophagus, S.ovalis, Caelorinchus mediterraneus) has been recorded, for the first time, in Sardinian Sea. Morphometric and meristic features, compared with literature data, are reported for Cataetyx alleni and Caelorinchus mediterraneus.
