The identification of the Matrix centers in the Regional Landscape Plan of Sardinia marked a edge town for planning but it is essential to verify with the scientific discipline of Urban History. The methods of study of the form of the historic city impose assessments of the complexity of urban stratification. It is necessary that the scientific analysis is integrated with the practice of urban planning for the correct conservation of the cultural heritage of our historic cities.
