The contribution shows an application of the methodology used for the creation of a catalog of sixteenth-century bastions of Sardinia designed by military engineers. Starting from the results of a study that showed a formal repertoire of high quality and a rigorous application of the treaty of Maggi and Castriotto, the survey has been expanded to the contribution of researchers in the disciplinary fields of restoration and history of architecture, archaeologists and geophysicists and has improved the architectural/functional, material and static knowledge of these architectures.
