La città intelligente: un modello nella soluzione dei conflitti tra turismo e urbanità/Smart city: a model for woring out conflicts between tourism and urbanism

Currently, urban tourism remained a consistent source of income for many cities. As a result of the growth of this sector, a number of conflicts have arisen between urban landscape and tourists, which often create difficulties in the governability of cities, especially in cities of high appeal. This paper has the objective of using the paradigm of the smart city as a possible method of managing tourism dynamics and relating them to the vaster panorama of the governance of the city. The smart city model is applied to the urban context of Cagliari, a dynamic environment where a number of interrelated variables create complex relations demanding an innovative system for city management. The analysis, focused on density, forms the grounds for the development of the proposal. The final scenario creates a system of nodes, set in the morphology of the urban fabric, which structure a context-aware environment combining pervasive devices to improve city's knowledge for all users and form the basis for the development of a smart city.
