The work analizes issues related to the presence of industrial wasteland on the historic outskirts of the major Italian cities and on the urban and suburban industrial areas. The paper describes intervention policies and reuse policies of these abandoned structures, both in Italy and abroad, with particular attention to aspects of environmental remediation and sustainable design.
