Communication intended to describe the evolution of graphic design competition. This theme can not be faced without reference to a specific local context. In fact, the graphical analysis of the project disconnected from the context that required the work, may not take the effect that the designer wanted to achieve for the specific territory and the population settled in it. Then we will examine the competitions for the city of Cagliari analyzing the drawings, illustrating how in a century much has changed in the practice of technical drawing, in effect choices made by designers, in size, color, in the composition of drawings of competition.
