The paper analyzes the linguistic typology belonging to the sentimental-detective story genre which was in fashion in the first half of the twentieth century through an examination of the short stories by Luciana Peverelli, especially those appeared in the narrative and crime news weekly magazine «Il Cerchio Verde» published by Mondadori between 1935 and 1937.
