Studied the relation of reflective function and coherence of mind, coherence of transcript, and metacognitive monitoring in 33 male and female middle school students (aged 12-14 yrs) in Italy. The Attachment Interview for Childhood and Adolescence, an age-revised version of the Adult Attachment Interview (AAI, M. Main and R. Goldwyn, 1994) were used. Coherence dimensions according to H. P. Grice's coherence model (1975) were used. The results indicate that the Reflective Function Scale is strongly correlated to coherence dimensions and attachment categories. Use of the scale to determine reflective function, attachment, and coherence in school-aged children and adolescents is discussed. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2010 APA, all rights reserved)
