Neste artigo, gostaríamos de esboçar uma montagem flumínea de fragmentos extraídos da esfera da comunicação contemporânea – Facebook, que, no final de 2014, nos presenteou com um vídeo que celebrava o nosso “ano maravilhoso”; Umberto Eco, que, pouco antes de nos deixar, afirmava que as redes sociais “conferiram direito de palavras aos imbecis”; Barack Obama, que revelou de se fechar no Salão Oval para assistir seriados de televisão; Papa Francisco, que enquanto usava Twitter declarava: “não assisto televisão” – a fim não apenas de explorar as relações que atravessam e ligam estas micro-formações semióticas, mas também, e sobretudo, de destacar as complexas questões de sentido – afetividade, significatividade, intersubjetividade – implicadas no modo em que vivemos os medias. E, ainda mais profundamente, o modo em que os medias, nestes primeiros anos do século XXI, estão dando vida a novas interações.
In this essay we would like to attempt a flash edit - in a cinematic sense - of fragments from the flux of contemporary communication - Facebook, which, at the end of 2014 gifted us with a video that celebrates our “beautiful year;” a digital assistant who has become racist; Umberto Eco’s statement: “Social media gives legions of idiots the right to speak;” Barack Obama, who reveals his secret passion for TV series; and Pope Francis, who uses Twitter but says: “I don’t watch TV.” Our assemblage will explore the relations that pass through and that tie all these semiotic micro-formations together. At the same time, our analysis will address the complex questions of affectivity, meaning, and intersubjectivity, implicated in the way in which we experience media, as well as in the way in which media shape our experience, giving life to new forms of interaction in this glimpse of the twenty-first century.
