The adoption of Building Information Modeling-Management (BIM) forces the project participants, PMI included, to re-engineering their practices and organizational structures. It, also, makes imperative the definition of collaborative environments to support the increasing complexity and the fragmentation of construction tasks. This paper explores how and to what extent the current practices in construction can be actually conciliated with the BIM paradigm into a coordinate and collaborative process that is not affected by inconsistencies between project’s actors. We analyse the new vision superimposed by the BIM adoption on the existing construction practices and set out the factors for the collaborative management of a construction project in a fashion that is consistent with the BIM paradigm. A collaborative environment is proposed to facilitate bi-directional information sharing between BIM and data produce and share on the Cloud by construction teams. A case study considers how the propose approach could be put in force to support the change of information during some on-site activities of the construction of a commercial building.

Abstract
A case study considers how the propose approach could be put in force to support the change of information during some on-site activities of the construction of a commercial building.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
