The article aims to reconstruct the genealogy of the Jewish family de Carcassona, originally from Provence, who arrived in Alghero, in the Kingdom of Sardinia, in 1422 and remained on the island even after the expulsion ordered in 1492 by Ferdinand the Catholic. Once converted to Christianity, in spite of the limpieza de sangre rules, they played very important roles in the Sardinian society and in the city of Cagliari in particular.
