Metodo e storia. Alcune considerazioni a partire da un recente studio sull’Illuminismo radicale a Napoli

The principal aim of the text is to take into account the thesis of Pierre Girara's recent essay which relates Vico's thought to the Radical Enlightenment. In this work, a stimulating interpretation is proposed about the emergence of philosophical and political radicalism in Naples between 17th and 18th Century. Such an interpretation becomes the occasion for a critical reflection on the historical methodology which questions the validity of strong and encompassing proposals in the history of ideas.
