This paper deals with the results obtained during the studies carried out for the optimization of a coal beneficiation plant, whose product was destined to an electricity production plant. Specifically, for the recovery of coal mine finest fraction, it was planned a new cyclone section, improving the global plant coal recovery. The results show how the products obtained present ash contents in line with current commercial specifications. Furthermore, the environmental impact, due the presence of tailings basin, is mitigated for the decrease of the volumes landfilled.

Abstract

This paper deals with the results obtained during the studies carried out for the optimization of a coal beneficiation plant, whose product was destined to an electricity production plant. Specifically, for the recovery of coal mine finest fraction, it was planned a new cyclone section, improving the global plant coal recovery. The results show how the products obtained present ash contents in line with current commercial specifications. Furthermore, the environmental impact, due the presence of tailings basin, is mitigated for the decrease of the volumes landfilled.
