The aim of the thesis is to describe from an historical- cultural point of view the ways according to which Sardinia is represented in a large sample of pictures pubblished in the press and touristic books in the Fifties and Sixties of the last century, using as a temporal limit, the 1951 Federico Patellani's reportage and the pictures taken by Franco Pinna in the occasion of the shepherds' struggle in 1967.
