This paper describes the measuring technique developed at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Cagliari for three-dimensional flow analysis applied to industrial-type centrifugal fans, using aerodynamic and high-frequency response probes. Experimental methodologies, hardware and data acquisition systems are described in detail with particular emphasis on hot-wire techniques.
