Tradurre i cromonimi: dal cerveza al mare color del vino

The present contribution, besides recreating the map of the main studies on color, starting from the the 19th-century debate about Homer’s “wine-dark sea”, focuses on the translation and translatability of chromonyms in literary texts through examples taken from the Italian version of El testigo by Mexican writer Juan Villoro.

Il contributo, oltre a ricomporre la mappa dei principali studi sul colore a partire dal dibattito nel XIX secolo attorno al “mare colore del vino” di Omero, presenta considerazioni attorno alla traduzione e traducibilità dei cromonimi in testi letterari attraverso esempi tratti dalla versione italiana de El testigo del messicano Juan Villoro.
