The present work aims to analyze the development of the vampire genre in Spanish fiction, from its origins to the most recent novels.The analysis focuses on the evolution of the vampire myth, incarnation of the fear of death, projection of the Other capable of causing it and Doppelgänger, that is negation of death through duplication of the Ego.
