In aging society, a number of individuals cannot perform normal daily activities because they have not enough physical strength. Elderly people, which have low mobility and do not stay at hospital, can perform daily activity only with the aid of caregivers. Although the recent pandemic situation has drastically modified global scenarios, even in this new and challenging situation, there is the need of developing suitable solutions for increasing the autonomy of fragile people in daily – life activities that can be performed at home. The new concept of Cyber Physical- Systems (CPS), which has been introduced mainly in the industrial context, pervades new domains, such as manufacturing, transportation, medical, military, and many others. This paper deals with the use of a CPS for a STS (Sit-To-Stand) device, which serves for an essential operation consisting in the movement for transitioning from sitting to standing postures. We have focused the attention on that specific task because it is crucial for daily-life and has clinical significance, since higher STS movement ability may enhance the quality of life.

Abstract
We have focused the attention on that specific task because it is crucial for daily-life and has clinical significance, since higher STS movement ability may enhance the quality of life.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
