Our reflection focuses on a new didactic of the dictionary inaugurated by Robert Galisson (1987), a few decades ago. Specifically, we want to address the topic of lexicographic equivalences in bilingual dictionaries. Normally, a good use of the dictionary is validated by a good use, and therefore by an effective pragmatic application of the contained information. What is necessary is a new notion not only of dictionary in general, but especially of bilingual dictionary in particular. Most of its users believe that a bilingual dictionary is only a translation of a word from one language A to another word in a language B. Moreover, one should work on the notion and The exploitation of lexicographic equivalence. In this connection reference should be made to the didactics of the dictionary which can help The user to master his linguistic tool and his language. In this article, the question of lexicographical equivalences was sought by suggesting pretexts for inserting the argument in a French-language university course.

Notre réflexion porte essentiellement sur une nouvelle didactique du dictionnaire inaugurée par Robert Galisson (1987), il y a quelques décennies. De façon spécifique, nous voulons aborder le sujet des équivalences lexicographiques dans les dictionnaires bilingues. Normalement, un bon usage du dictionnaire est validé par une bonne utilisation, et donc par une application pragmatique efficace des informations contenues. Ce qui est nécessaire c’est une nouvelle notion non seulement de dictionnaire en général, mais surtout de dictionnaire bilingue en particulier. La majeure partie de ses usagers croit qu’un dictionnaire bilingue n’est qu’un ouvrage de traduction d’un mot d’une langue A à un autre mot dans une langue B. De plus, il faudrait travailler sur la notion et sur l’exploitation d’équivalence lexicographique. A ce propos, on doit faire référence à la didactique du dictionnaire qui puisse aider l’usager à bien maîtriser son outil linguistique et sa langue. Dans cet article on a cherché à mettre au point la question des équivalences lexicographiques en suggérant des prétextes pour insérer l’argument dans un cours universitaire de langue française.
