One of the most common errors in evaluations of the fascist phenomenon, which does not help us to understand the difference between this movement and other (previous or successive) manifestations of the authoritarian and conservative tradition, consists in reducing its essence to the monopolistic, systematically organised use of force and repressive apparatuses. The most modern feature of the authoritarian project of fascism lies in the ability to open new trenches for the task of controlling the masses. Therefore, the ability to exercise also domination and direction, again, speaking with Gramscian categories force + consensus, or Crocianly: politics + ethics. Here, in our way of seeing, we find one of the greatest legacies of the age of fascism in today's world, in a reality marked by the omnipresence of the mass media and of the new vehicles for the diffusion of information and disinformation, even more invasive than the traditional ones.
