La valorizzazione mineralurgica dei minerali feldspatici del giacimento di Serra majore (Sardegna Centrale)

Due to the progress of the ceramic industry and to the growing competition of developing Countries in the sector of raw materials, a large number of domestic producers are thus facing with the problem of improving the quality of their products. In this context, the paper examine the case of Serra Majore mine (SVIMISA SpA), with the purpose to verify the possibility to apply mineral processing methods. Using magnetic separation and flotation techniques, the technical feasibility to obtain products suitable for the more remunerative sector of the porcelain stoneware tile has been experimentally demonstrated.
