This article focuses on the relationship between corpus linguistics and didactics and is based on the obser- vation that GFL textbooks generally tend to convey a „DaF German“ which doesn’t take real language use sufficiently into account. Using German subordinate clauses as an example, the article first compares textbooks with each other and then consults reference corpora of Standard German and „DaF German“ as a tertium comparationis. The analysis aims at creating clarity in the complex mess of subordinate clauses in GFL by proposing a „frequency grammar“.

Abstract
This article focuses on the relationship between corpus linguistics and didactics and is based on the obser- vation that GFL textbooks generally tend to convey a „DaF German“ which doesn’t take real language use sufficiently into account. Using German subordinate clauses as an example, the article first compares textbooks with each other and then consults reference corpora of Standard German and „DaF German“ as a tertium comparationis. The analysis aims at creating clarity in the complex mess of subordinate clauses in GFL by proposing a „frequency grammar“.File in questo prodotto:
