Pregiudizi storici e politici e analisi linguistiche e filologiche

The essay analyzes the impact of personal, ideological and political-cultural prejudice on the setting and development of philological and linguistic research. The exemplification is conducted on two themes: the Romanization of Sardinia and the first written attestations of the Sardinian language. Incidentally, it is argued that peripheral areas are often not isolated from the world but in their world and that the understanding of their historical processes, without the reconstruction of this internal dialectic, is always risky.
