Abstract

This paper tackles the design of a calibration using experimental design techniques. In particular, the optimum calibration pian for psychrometers, treated as a complex measurement chain, is identified by suitably elaborating the errar propagation law suggested by the ISO Guide. The obtained theoretical results are verified on a number of real calibrations, carried out in an humidity European Accredited Laboratory. The main advantages of the proposed approach consist in i) calibrati an plans with a reduced number of calibration points; ii) calibrati an curve applicable to to the whole temperature range; iii) linear rather than complex regression technique always usable.
