The wake around a cylinder is well known and relatively well documented. The flow configuration depends on the Reynolds number and exhibits the classical von Karman street when this number reaches a sufficiently high value. When we consider a conducting liquid, the flow configuration becomes sensitive to the action of a magnetic field. In this work, we were interested in a general configuration when the magnetic field is aligned with the flow at infinity downstream, for a cylinder with the axis perpendicular to the flow and magnetic field direction. The problem was treated numerically for small and high magnetic Reynolds numbers. In the present work, results for both are proposed and obtained by numerical simulation
