A variational procedure is proposed to accurately analyze the electrical quasi-TEM parameters of coplanar waveguides, taking into account finite-extent as well as semiinfinite lateral ground planes. The procedure leads to accurate calculations and allows comparison with results already presented for coplanar waveguides.
