This paper aims to suggest new research perspectives with regard to a complex iconography, interpreted as the representation of the "Keeper of the Vineyard", drawing from the anonymous text De Duobus Montibus Sina et Sion (end of 3rd century A.D.). The investigation mainly focuses on the presence of this iconography on many African Red Slip Ware artefacts (bowl- cups and oil lamps), from the first half of the 5th to the 6th century A.D.
