This study describes the influence of French L2 on the learning of Italian L4 by adult Turkish-speaking learners in a university context. More specifically, our study focuses on the interpretation and translation of 13 Italian collocations – of the type “fare + noun” and “fare + determiner + noun”. We describe and analyze the translatological choices of collocations in the light of analogical linguistics (Hofstadter 1995; Gentner et al. 2001; Monneret 2011 et 2014) and cognitive semantics (Lakoff and Johnson 1980 and 1999). In this study, we propose to emphasize the importance of using a vehicular language - such as French - to promote the learning of Italian phraseological constructions to a Turkish-speaking public.

Abstract
This study describes the influence of French L2 on the learning of Italian L4 by adult Turkish-speaking learners in a university context. More specifically, our study focuses on the interpretation and translation of 13 Italian collocations – of the type “fare + noun” and “fare + determiner + noun”. We describe and analyze the translatological choices of collocations in the light of analogical linguistics (Hofstadter 1995; Gentner et al. 2001; Monneret 2011 et 2014) and cognitive semantics (Lakoff and Johnson 1980 and 1999). In this study, we propose to emphasize the importance of using a vehicular language - such as French - to promote the learning of Italian phraseological constructions to a Turkish-speaking public.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
