Symétries édifiantes d’un voyage allégorique

The article sets out to trace a framework of the dialectic between Vices and Virtues within Pierre de l'Hôpital's "Voie d'Enfer et de Paradis" by applying the tools offered by the semiotics of A. J. Greimas to the text. The relationship between the two journeys, the determined moment of the traveller's repentance - the metànoia - and the meaning that the entire narration progressively assumes (both for the protagonist and for the user of the text) are thus investigated from a perspective that allows us to appreciate the compositional qualities of the poem.

L'articolo si propone di tracciare un quadro della dialettica tra Vizi e Virtù all'interno della Voie d'Enfer et de Paradis di Pierre de l'Hôpital applicando al testo gli strumenti offerti dalla semiotica di A. J. Greimas. Il rapporto tra i due viaggi, il momento determinato del pentimento del viaggiatore - la metànoia - e il significato che l'intera narrazione assume progressivamente (sia per il protagonista che per il fruitore del testo) sono così indagati in una prospettiva che permette di apprezzare le qualità compositive del poema.
