Abstract

Simplifications and good performance of the public administration. Between Scylla and Charybdis: Respecting complexity by overcoming complications – Simplification is one of the central elements in the policies launched during the last three decades to modernise public administration, bring it closer to the citizen and promote economic growth thanks to the reduction of bureaucratic steps and administrative burdens. It is a difficult path, designed in compliance with the endemic complexity of the administration due to the multiple functions performed, but aimed at the elimination of unnecessary bureaucratic complications. Strongly stimulated by the European Union and managed in the multilevel dimension of our legal system, it goes through the current phase looking to the future and to the challenges for planning interventions in PNRR related to the post-Covid-19 pandemic.
