Nowadays the question of method in philosophy has different connotations compared to the 19th century, when philosophy more widely influenced methodological problematisation in the sciences, and these advanced towards their qualification and differentiation. On the one hand, the sciences themselves have evolved with respect to their capacity for theoretical and critical-foundational self-reflection; on the other hand, philosophy appears increasingly oriented towards equal dialogue, often subordinated, with regard to the contents that scientific advances determine step by step. Thus, it is nowadays the paradigmatic reference to science that guides, in one way or another, philosophical research on method; but it is a research which, at the same time, aims both at interdisciplinary integration and, indeed, at a closer union between science and philosophy.

Abstract
Nowadays the question of method in philosophy has different connotations compared to the 19th century, when philosophy more widely influenced methodological problematisation in the sciences, and these advanced towards their qualification and differentiation. On the one hand, the sciences themselves have evolved with respect to their capacity for theoretical and critical-foundational self-reflection; on the other hand, philosophy appears increasingly oriented towards equal dialogue, often subordinated, with regard to the contents that scientific advances determine step by step. Thus, it is nowadays the paradigmatic reference to science that guides, in one way or another, philosophical research on method; but it is a research which, at the same time, aims both at interdisciplinary integration and, indeed, at a closer union between science and philosophy.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
