Vittorio Polacco was one of the most eminent legal scientists at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, a professor first in Modena, then in Padua and Rome; he was also a national member of the Accademia dei Lincei and from 1910 senator of the Kingdom. To his school must be ascribed personalities of the caliber of Francesco Santoro-Passarelli and Francesco Carnelutti, both destined to culturally dominate the Italian university for a large part of the twentieth century.
Vittorio Polacco Fu uno dei più eminenti scienziati del diritto a cavallo tra Ottocento e Novecento, professore prima a Modena, poi a Padova e a Roma; fu anche socio nazionale dell’Accademia dei Lincei e a partire dal 1910 senatore del Regno. Alla Sua scuola vanno ascritte personalità del calibro di Francesco Santoro-Passarelli e Francesco Carnelutti, entrambe destinate a dominare culturalmente l’Università italiana per larga parte del ventesimo secolo.
