Starting from the concept of 'monumental environment' (art.14), introduced by the Venice Charter, which extended the concept of historic monument to the urban and landscape environments, the paper illustrates the contribution of Margherita Asso (1927-2019) - an important Institutional figure in the world of preservation of these years - in the subsequent extension of this concept to all the territory. In fact, she dedicated her entire institutional career to these issues with accuracy and tenacity, standing out among the first female architects to become Superintendent, and arrived in Venice (1959-1965) in the same years in which the principles of the Charter were being matured. The active role in the protection of the environmental and urban heritage of Margherita Asso is highlighted through an analysis of the experiences she conducted. Therefore, her theoretical as well as methodological and applicative contribution as Institution is not only pioneering for those years but it is still valid today considering the values stated by the Venice Charter.

Abstract
Therefore, her theoretical as well as methodological and applicative contribution as Institution is not only pioneering for those years but it is still valid today considering the values stated by the Venice Charter.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
