In this paper, we propose some new measures of wind power variability based on reliability indexes. The measures are computed for continuous-time Markov models of wind power generation and for diferent wind parks. This allows us to compare the diferences in the measurement of the variability of wind power due to the diferent geographical positions of the wind plants. The results have direct practical relevance and utility in the real-world wind energy sector, as they contribute to a more in-depth understanding of the variability risk of wind power generation plants.

Abstract
In this paper, we propose some new measures of wind power variability based on reliability indexes. The measures are computed for continuous-time Markov models of wind power generation and for diferent wind parks. This allows us to compare the diferences in the measurement of the variability of wind power due to the diferent geographical positions of the wind plants. The results have direct practical relevance and utility in the real-world wind energy sector, as they contribute to a more in-depth understanding of the variability risk of wind power generation plants.File in questo prodotto:
