Resilience is pivotal to understanding how family businesses confront challenges and uncertainty. This study examines the role of collective resilience in Italian family enterprises, highlighting how a strong sense of community, shared responsibility, and mutual trust drive sustainability and adaptability. Drawing on qualitative evidence from five case studies, it identifies three essential mechanisms: (1) shaping a collective identity that reinforces belonging, (2) establishing intergenerational support systems, and (3) adopting collaborative decision-making practices. The concept of communion emerges as the cornerstone of collective resilience, forging a profound bond among members that transforms adversity into opportunities for shared growth.
